BIO

I used to be a better writer.

I CAN B.

It’s the return of the prodigal

Looking through my pockets to pocket impossible

We are rockets

We’re unstoppable.

B3K is an M.C., poet, wordsmith and a biographer of his musical migration, scribed on surfaces and cascaded upon original music like shaping water over rocks.

He is the founder and co-owner of the San Diego live hip-hop band, Vokab Kompany and goes by the alias Rob Hurt or real name, Robbie Gallo.

B3K is currently in the studio recording a solo album that’s rooted in hip hop, soul and electronic and will feature: Edamame, Lapa (Emancipator), Bajka, Bassline Drift and others. The focus for this album is an imperfect bio on his life notably titled, I CAN B: Bad Better Best. He has plans to tour the album and is currently working to create a live band to learn the catalog.

His hip-hop history and love for soul, and rhythm and blues started young. His first record purchased was Michael Jakson’s “Thriller” (still has it). He quickly appreciated and absorbed all forms of music however, was drawn to the art of rhyming, and his family was supportive.

B3K’s mom, grandma and aunts would by him any tapes he asked for and when he found out about the infamous, RapMasters Volumes of the 80’s where he discovered MC’s like: Fatboys, RUN D.M.C., Dana Dane, Rob Base, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, African Bambaataa and more, he learned to the art of storytelling through rhyme and was hooked!

Decades later, he has over 12 national, commercial, T.V. and movie syncs, has played all over the U.S. and into Canada and some Mexico w/ his band Vokab Kompany, has 6 full studio albums and 1 full live album which over all include features w/ The Grouch, Gift of Gab, Killer Priest (Wu Tang), The Polish Ambassador, Mitchy Slick, Random Rab, Lateef the Truthspeaker, J Boogie, DJ Vadim, Lincoln Parish (from Cage the Elephant), Stephan Jacobs, Crush Effect and dozens more.

Stay close for new music, videos and shows from B3K. Much love.
